The Boston Red Sox win the 2018 World Series in 5 games over the Los Angeles Dodgers!

The 2018 Red Sox have been one of baseball’s best teams in the history of the sport. In an era of home runs and strick outs, the Sox proved everyone wrong. Going against every expert not named Bill James, the Red Sox built a team focused on getting on base and hitting line drives. Also, a $250 million dollar payroll helps but let’s not let that ruin anything. The Red Sox are a team full of young guns making a run at superstardom and older veterans who have been around the block. Again, the game of baseball is shifting to the young guys and the Sox proved again they will win no matter what.

However, let’s not forget their formidable opponents this postseason. The Red Sox have had maybe the most difficult road to the World Series ever. In their track in the American League, the Red Sox faced two 100 win teams. That has never happened. One of which is the defending champs from 2017 who looked even better. Also, we must mention that in the division series, the Sox dismantled their longtime rival New York Yankees in just 4 games. All of this is before the Sox could even think about the World Series.

The Los Angles Dodgers also lost last years World Series to join the Texas Rangers as teams who lost two straight. RIP. The Dodgers seem like a decent match-up for the Sox but in the end, it was not to be. The Red Sox overpowered the Dodgers in every aspect of the game. Their line-up is better, their starting pitching and bullpen is better, their defense is better. If it was not for a fluky 18 inning game, the Dodgers would have been swept. The boys from Boston are clearly and without a doubt the best team in baseball this season. Winning a grand total of 119 games and obliterating the competition in the postseason solidifies the top spot.
